I have some catching up to do so I will be adding a few quick short posts before they are more detailed.
Because the internship that I received is offered through YPO there are at times other opportunities that arise. One of them was a forum training event offered in Malaysia, I have never been to Malaysia before so I took the opportunity. Before going I had no idea what a forum was, once I arrived one of the event organizers, Phil, explained it to me. I was kind of amazed at its relevancy and was excited to get started. We first had a welcoming dinner in an amazing restaurant. This picture was taken from the ground, there was a mirror on the ceiling
All of the people who attended were individually unique and enjoyable to be around. In the first picture you will notice 2 guys that look the same, they are twins. Their names are Michael and Steven and they were on a 6 week trek through Asia. They had been staying in hostels so it was a huge setting switch for them to be in a five star hotel after sleeping on pieces of bamboo.
The last night there was crazy. We went to a local club called velvet which one of the YNG members reserved a table at. About 4 of the members each bought a bottle so there was more booze to go around than we could handle. The night started off with some chatting and jokes about what happened during the day. We took a few decent pictures before the liquid really started flowing. This is a picture of Carrisa (one of the companies founders daughter) she has a passion for organics that exceeds any of the interns I am with and she cant wait to get involved with the project.
About 5-6 of us then moved to the dance floor which was incredibly packed. We could hardly find a spot to dance, it was a shoulder to shoulder massacre. The positive thing was that they played music in english so at least I could understand it! At times the music got so loud that I couldn't hear myself think, and there were fog machines that I'm pretty sure took some fog machine steroids before the night started. In this picture I am with one of the twins and a random dude whose hat we kept taking.
In conclusion, the forum training was awesome. I learned a lot about a field I had never known before. When I return to the states I am considering starting a forum. Im not sure how that will go but there is a possibility for relevance and plus I love being involved with YNG, opportunities seem to pile up at my feet I am very grateful. I would like to give a shout out to Phil Chen for letting me room with him, which is the main reason I was able to go. Also, a shout out to Crystal for organizing the event (along with Phil) they did an amazing job and I will never forget this experience. Thanks for reading. Enjoy.
